What exactly is SEO?SEO is work that makes your company more visible on the Internet. Not just your website, but your overall Internet presence. You may have your website listed on the first page of Google, but you may also have references to your company, product or services on articles, blogs, forums, directories or other websites; all on the first page of Google.
Now that I am doing SEO, will my sales skyrocket? It is very much the goal of our work to increase both your presence and your rankings on the Internet. The success of it can be dependent upon many variables such as:
Google. Google can do whatever they want, it is their company. This means they can change, and do, the way their search engine works at any time, update the algorithm, add features, delete other features. We do our best to stay on top of what they are doing and stay ahead of the game. This holds true for Yahoo and Bing as well.
Your competitors. There is no way to tell what your competitors are going to do. They may be competing for the same keywords you are, they may be putting together an aggressive SEO campaign themselves, they may be doing nothing. There is no way to tell exactly what everyone is doing.
Your Industry. Every industry is different. Retail is different than business to business. Every industry changes and has ups and downs. Some industries are more competitive than others. Performing SEO services for a local pizza place is a lot different than trying to rank for a law firm, VERY different. We have no control over the competitiveness or the natural ebbs and flows of any industry. This market status is often reflected online, both good and bad. All of our campaigns do increase your visibility and presence on the Internet.
Your Website. Unless we built your website, it may not be built in a way to convert visitors to buyers. Turning visitors into queries or leads is different than SEO. We offer this service as it is a part of overall online success, but it's success depends largely on how your website is built, it's look, feel and it's content.
What is a "Conversion Rate"?This term usually applies to the ratio of how many monthly visitors you get to your website compared to the number of phone calls, queries or leads that come from your website. In other words, if you have 1300 unique visitors to your website in a month and you get 130 leads in the form of phone calls, emails or a form being filled out, you would have a Conversion Rate of 10%. We work with you to address your conversion rate to get it as high as we can. SEO works on getting traffic, good quality traffic, not just traffic for traffic's sake, to your website. We can work on increasing your Conversion Rate without any SEO services or along with SEO services, whatever your needs are.
What is the difference between “presence” and “rankings”?“Presence” refers to the number of references online to your company, you or your product. If you Google “Walker SEO” you will see multiple references from multiple sources.
“Rankings” means where you are in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS). Your keyword may be on the second page of Google, say at #15, one day and the next day it may be at #6. Ranking are dynamic and are constantly changing. Rankings reflect what is happening on the Internet, new sites, new domains, new links, new articles, deleted sites, old content, new content, news, advertising...it is a long list - what effects rankings.
What is the difference between “on-page” and “off-page” SEO?“On-page” SEO is when edits/changes are done to an actual webpage on your website. “Off-page” SEO is the creation and/or distribution of content that is linked to you website, like articles, press releases, comments on forums, blogs, etc.
What does “SEO Friendly” mean?Your website can be built in a way that makes it easy to find for the Search Engines or it can be hard or impossible to find. When a website is built that is easy to find, it is SEO Friendly. A website built with all Flash cannot even be “seen” by Search Engines. In our free analysis we can show you how a Search Engine Spider “sees” your website, or what your website looks like to a Search Engine.
What is the difference between Pay-per-Click and Organic SEO?
PPC is temporary, Organic SEO is permanent, for the most part.
When you use PPC, the minute you start paying, you start getting clicks, the minute you stop, the clicks stop. PPC is good for new websites as Organic SEO takes time. If you need traffic right away, use PPC. Many times we use a combination of both.
Organic SEO is done one time, takes some time to have effect, but can last for years. It may take 3 to 6 months to get a website backlinks from directories for instance, but once they have been accepted, the links are permanent and one-way, which will help generate traffic and help ranking forever.
How much does it cost?
Our goal is to provide you with a great ROI and that the results outweigh the hard costs, if they didn't, we wouldn't be in business.
As two small examples, we have one client who pays $45.00 per month and gets about 7 to 10 leads every month for his business, which is enough to be the major source of new business for him. We have another client who pays over $20,000.00 per year and attributes their website for providing leads that are worth over $3 Million dollars per year.
Actual costs and pricing of SEO services depends initially on if we are going to do the actual SEO work or if you are. We act as an SEO consultant to many of our clients and they perform the SEO work on their own under our guidance, measurement and counsel.
Prices of individual services vary. A good starting point for many of our clients is an initial SEO Analysis:
- Initial Website Analysis. We review your existing website and it's presence on the Web. We look at your keywords, your competition and see exactly where you stand in terms of overall Internet visibility. This gives us a good idea of both your weak areas and strengths in terms of SEO. We look at all of the current metrics, as per Google primarily, to measure your website, using different tools and provide you with all of the information along with specific recommendations that we feel would enhance your Internet presence and bring you more business and more leads from the Web.
